Position Summary

  • Directs the overall distribution/manufacturing/production activities from beginning to end
  • Develops budget and works on capacity plans to support company objectives
  • Develops/implements Distribution systems and processes to continually improve competitiveness
  • Establishes a materials management/supply chain strategy to optimize value added processes
  • Formulates and installs standard practices based on comparative studies of methods and costs
  • Provides Operations team with effective leadership, guidance and communication
  • Creates work environment conducive to worker morale and motivation and to the accomplishment of performance objectives
  • Lead daily safety meetings, plan, establish and implement safety, environmental programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees.
  • Administer disciplinary actions including suspensions and verbal and written warnings as required when "work place practices" as designated in the Employee Handbook are violated.
  • Prepare and present performance reviews to personnel.
  • Monitor daily dispatch reports and assign personnel in the day to day functions
  • Teach new employees their job responsibilities and duties with assistance from experienced department personnel.
  • Interface with lead people, supervisors, and employees of supporting departments to resolve problems, coordinate workflow, initiate process improvements, etc.
  • Responsible for Time & Attendance, monitor vacation, leaves for work group along with daily dispatch reports; assign personnel.

Qualifications/Skills Required

  • Must possess solid skills in MS Outlook, MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal, coaching, presentation, writing and meeting facilitation skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects/initiatives in a timely manner.
  • Perform a variety of complex tasks, display initiative and exercise good judgment.
  • Needs to be a "hands on" leader that is willing to work alongside their direct reports to get the job done.

Education/Experience Required

  • BS/BA in Business, Operations, Supply Chain or other relevant discipline. Advanced degree preferred
  • 7-10 years of management experience in a distribution / supply chain environment
  • Global supply chain experience preferred
  • Experience with Salesforce.com / Rootstock / Financial Force or other cloud based ERP systems preferred

Work Environment

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl and move about facility and/or customer's facilities. Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
